Concurrent Turbo - Decoding

چکیده
The turbo-decoding algorithm can be viewed as a message passing procedure on a graph. We contrast the standard 6‘forward-backward’’ turbodecoding algorithm with a new “concurrent” algorithm that is suited to parallel implementation.

Comdined Turbo Block Decoding and Equalisation
In this paper, the combination of equalization and turbo decoding is studied. In the iterative decoding of a product code in block turbo coding system, the equalization process is performed within the iteration loop. The present study aims to investigate the decision feedback equalizer (DFE) incorporated in the iterative decoding. Simulation results show that the more severe the channel interfe...

متن کاملA Low Complexity Block Turbo Decoder Architecture
We present a low-complexity architecture designed for the decoding of block turbo codes. In particular we simplify the implementation of Pyndiah’s algorithm by not memorizing any of the concurrent codewords generated by the Chase search.
متن کاملEnabling high-speed turbo-decoding through concurrent interleaving
Turbo-Codes are among the most advanced channel coding schemes and are already part of the 3rd Generation Wireless Communication standards. Future applications, however, will have a demand for higher throughput than the currently targeted 2Mbit/s, leading to a need for highly parallelized architectures for Turbo-Decoding. Those where until now nearly infeasible because the component decoders ar...
متن کاملOn Turbo-Schedules for LDPC Decoding
The convergence rate of LDPC decoding is comparatively slower than turbo code decoding: 25 LDPC iterations versus 8-10 iterations for turbo codes. Recently, Mansour proposed a ‘turbo-schedule’ to improve the convergence rate of LDPC decoders. In this letter, we first extend the turbo-scheduling principle to the check messages. Second, we show analytically that the convergence rate of both turbo...
